My Website
In the Spring of 2010, I decided that I wanted to build my own website. I hadn't got a clue how to do that but I had an idea and I wanted to see it come to fruition.
This is my story so far. I hope it encourages and helps others who have an idea and want to build and run their own website.
The Days Out Offers Idea
There are various websites out there offering days out ideas and some that offer vouchers or discounts but after many years of trawling through these, I thought it would be great if there was one website which would have all of the available days out offers on there.
There seems to be 4 types of days out offers websites:-
1) Ticket selling companies.
2) Local city / county tourist information sites.
3) Niche market sites offering vouchers - child orientated mainly.
4) Commission websites where people click a link through to other sites and the advertsing site receives a percentage of any sale.
I decided that cheaper-days-out.co.uk would incorporate all of these types of sites in to just 1 site, so if you're wanting to visit any attraction in the UK, you come to my site and I will give you all the options.
Cash in nectar points or Tesco clubcard vouchers, percentage off if you book online, buy 1 get 1 free vouchers, kids go free vouchers etc - whatever offers are out there - my site would have them all.
That was the idea sorted out, I just needed to build the website.
Web Host
I initially went for the cheapest web host (which was very well known), purchased a few "How to build a website" books and thought with a bit of hard work, I would have my website up and running in no time.
How wrong was I! The web host just gave me a space on the internet and the books were very hard work and difficult to follow so I looked for another option and found it with SiteSell!

My Charity
"Help for Heroes" is a very deserving cause and is my chosen charity. Not everyone agrees with the reasons for sending our armed forces to war but I believe we need to look after those that really need our help when they return.
